Greetings to the Koonung Heights Community,
This coming Sunday we are fortunate to have Jeff Wild with us for worship. Jeff will be our guest preacher/presenter on behalf of Act for Peace. According to their website, Act for Peace is the international humanitarian agency of the National Council of Churches Australia. From humble beginnings over 75 years ago with the Christmas Bowl, Act for Peace now works with local organisations in 16 countries.
Never before has there been a time when so many people have had to flee their homes due to conflict and disasters. In this unprecedented displacement crisis, more than 123.2 million* people around the world are without the peace of a safe place to belong. Act for Peace helps these people.
To quote Konjit from Ethiopia, “Home is a place where I don’t need to worry about the safety of my children.”
