WALK IN ASHBURTON SATURDAY 8 NOVEMBER
Our next walk will be along the Anniversary and Ferndale trails in Ashburton. It will be an easy 4.5km walk through linear parks from Ashburton Station on High St to Glen Iris Road. We shall enjoy a coffee stop halfway at Pantry Glen Iris Café (106 Glen Iris Rd) before returning on the same track.

We shall meet at the church carpark at 9am or 9:20am at the Ashburton Railway Station carpark (westside, turn into Y St from High St and first right will take you to the carpark). Anyone not wanting to walk is welcome to join us at the Café for a chat at about 10:30am.

Please let Voon know at least a week before the walk if you plan to come to facilitate café booking, and also if you would like a lift. (Mobile 0404807945 or gvstokie@gmail.com)

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST:
Are you able to help with our Christmas chaos event?
This is our annual intergenerational event of Christmas craft, carols and dinner. Volunteers will need to have completed safe church training in line with our church’s safe church policy. We are looking at running a group session after church one day, alternatively training can be completed individually. Please speak to Clare or email – clare.rendall@hotmail.com
If you are looking at attending this event a working with children check will be required and now is a good time to apply. We can provide assistance if required. Thank you for support in making sure we keep all members of our community safe.

HELP END POLIO
Rotary’s Walk with Us fundraiser is on again from 1-31 October. I will be walking again to raise as much as possible for this great cause – to eradicate polio forever!

If you can, please donate to my part of this fundraising effort where our district clubs hope to raise $100.000 this year. Just go to http://rotarywalkwithus.org/ and follow the links to the Rotoboars team and then my name to make a tax-deductible donation. I aim to walk at least 150 km over the month and to beat my total funds raised last year.

Every dollar raised becomes $3 thanks to the Gates Foundation.

This is part of Rotary’s number one global project, and you can be apart of it! Please help this worthy cause. See me if you prefer to make a non-deductible cash donation.

DO YOU LIKE CHATTING WITH PEOPLE AND HELPING THEM AT THE SAME TIME?
Volunteers are needed at BCO (Boroondara Community Outreach) to interact and assist vulnerable clients during distribution of emergency relief (Mondays/Thursdays)
This position will involve offering clients fruit/vegetables, non-perishable items and meals that are available and assembling food boxes accordingly.
If this interests you, please speak with Voon (Mob 0404807945).

WWCC New Requirement – Organisation Email Address
When applying for or renewing a WWCC, applicants need to include an organisation email address. To ensure consistency, please use our dedicated email: wwccr@victas.uca.org.au.  This email receives all WWCC and Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) notifications across the Synod.

CARDS FOR SALE
David Ogilvie has kindly donated some beautiful cards originally prepared by his mother Margaret. These will be on display in the Fellowship space after worship. A small donation, to support the work of BCO, would be appreciated for any cards you choose.

BREAD TAGS FOR WHEELCHAIRS
Plastic bread tags are collected Australia-wide and recycled in Robe, South Australia. All funds raised through recycling are used to supply wheelchairs mainly in South Africa. Please save your bread tags. Ask your family, friends, and local schools, etc to save them for you, then drop them into the box at church.
