Greetings …
Each week I look for something inspiring to share in this greeting … either something that is on my heart or has touched me in some way during the week. Sometimes this flows quite easily and at other times it is more difficult. At times that which is sitting deeply with me needs more contemplation.
It is true that inspiration is not always easy to come by. I think that’s because we don’t control it and need to show a degree of patience as we wait for it to find us.
As I was thinking about this, I came across the following words (author unknown) …

INSPIRATION
is such a fragile thing – just a fragile thing.
Just a breeze, touching the green foliage of a city park,
just a whisper from the soul of a friend.
Just a line of verse, clipped from some forgotten magazine.
INSPIRATION
who can say where it is born and why it leaves us?
who can tell of its reasons for being, or for not being?
ONLY THIS
I think that inspiration comes from the heart of heaven
to give the lift of wings,
and the breath of divine music
to those of us who are earth-bound.

As we look forward to when we might open the doors of our church building, may we catch the inspiration and vision that comes from the God who goes with us.
May we be inspired to continue to be one worshipping community, whether we are physically together in the same space or not.
May we be inspired to continue our care for each other and also for ourselves as we work out this new normal.
