Welcome to Koonung Heights Uniting Church

2021, 4th April

Easter Greetings …
Writing in the middle of Holy Week I am mindful of the desire to rush towards Sunday and the resurrection, for it is a much easier place to reside than in the horror of Good Friday or the liminality of Saturday. We long to reach Sunday where we can proclaim “Jesus Christ is Risen!” But where do we see Christ Risen today? These words from Kathy Galloway might point us in the right direction.

Christ our life,
You are alive – in the beauty of the earth
in the rhythm of the seasons
in the mystery of time and space. Alleluia!
Christ our life,
You are alive – in the tenderness of touch
in the heartbeat of intimacy
in the insights of solitude. Alleluia!
Christ our life,
You are alive – in the creative possibility
of the dullest conversation
of the dreariest task
of the most threatening event. Alleluia!
Christ our life,
You are alive – the offer re-creation
to every unhealed hurt
to every deadened place
to every damaged heart. Alleluia.
You set before us a great choice.
Therefore we choose life.
The dance of resurrection soars and
surges through the whole creation.
This is grace, dying we live.
So let us live.

May each of us see Christ Risen in the beauty and love that surrounds us, and may we strive to make Christ Risen a reality for others.
Easter Blessings – Heather.
