Greetings,
On June 22 the Uniting Church celebrated its 44th Anniversary. An anniversary is one of those times when we give thanks for what is past, reflect on the present and look to the future. As a church, for us this includes being reminded of the participation of God in our journey to this point and into the future.
In her Presidents message, Dr Deidre Palmer reflects on what is has meant to be Church during the time of the pandemic, when things like meeting together were not always possible. Deidre also comments on the many things that we have to be thankful for as a church.
According to Deidre, we can be thankful for …
- who we are as the Uniting Church and who we are becoming;
- the way God is leading us to respond to Christs ministry of justice and healing;
- the journey we are on together as First and Second Peoples;
- the Pentecost vision that we experience through the cultural diversity of the Uniting Church;
- the young people and their vision, hope and courage to name the church we are called to be;
- for those calling for the renewal of all creation and those calling for climate justice and healing;
- and for the faithfulness, care and compassion of those within our church.

We have much to be thankful for and more to discover as we continue to follow God’s lead into the places we are called to live out our faith.
Happy Anniversary UCA!
Blessings – Heather.
