Greetings,
Sensing that many of us might be feeling a little despondent with the extension of lockdown, it is a timely reminder that we are not alone at this time. As some things are changing too fast (and others not fast enough) we would do well to recall the words of the psalmist who reminds us to be still and know that God is God (Psalm 46:10). God loves us and never leaves us to walk the journey of life alone.
When our eyes are open to see, we can even find God’s blessing in unexpected places. Blessings of lockdown might include sleeping in, staying in your pyjamas, avoiding the peak-hour traffic, having time to slow down and just sit and think or watching the re-run of a favourite show without feeling guilty about it.
If you are finding it hard to see the blessings, make sure that you go gently and don’t expect too much. Remember how important it is to look after yourself and your loved ones. Make a phone call and stay connected. Go for a walk with a friend. Find a quite space to read a good book. Be … still … and … know …
Love and blessings – Heather.
