Greetings,
Thank you for every brand new morning
Thank you for all that I can do
Thank you my friends and family love me
And God loves me too! (Sung to the tune of Thank you for giving me the morning)
We sang these words over toddler zoom last Sunday, as we reflected on the story of Jesus healing ten sick people, with only one coming back to say thank you.
It strikes me that even in these different times we have a lot to be thankful for, so before I have some leave I thought I would say thank you!
Firstly, thanks to the young people (Charlie, Max, Harry & Oscar, Maddy, Olivia & Stella, and Elizabeth) who shared their hopes, concerns and practical ideas around climate solutions with us during worship last Sunday! Thanks also to Harriet who beautifully compiled these ideas into the Statement on Climate Change we read. John and Chris Burley also have to be thanked for the insight they gave into the way that climate change is affecting the nation and people of Vanuatu.
Many people commented on the wonderful contributions to the service last week. One email I received in relation to the contribution of the youth expressed it this way … please tell them that some of us have been active for a long time about these issues, but more so recently as the youth of the world have pushed us to take more action. It’s a great article, I’m so glad to know they care about God’s Earth.
Thanks to Rev Deacon Jenny Preston who will share in worship with the congregation over the next two Sundays while I am on leave. I am sure that this will be an especially delightful time for all of you.
A final thanks to you all for your care of me, my family and each another. It is truly a blessing to be sharing in ministry with you all. I am looking forward to my holiday but I am equally looking forward to being back with you all.
Blessings – Heather
