Greetings …

… and welcome to the first Community News for 2022.  Thanks to the Community News Team (Chris, Prue, Alison and Beth) who work to put this together each week.  Remember this is your news, so get in touch if you have a notice that you’d like to share.

We are about to be treated to the Winter Olympics.  I love the Olympics and watching the athletes perform at the pinnacle of their sport.  When witnessing the performances and talents of the athletes it can be easy to forget that what they make look easy has taken years of training and persistence to hone skills and compete at this elite level.  For each ‘personal best’ moment there are many routine moments along the way.

Life can sometimes feel like this.  It can be a long time between moments of excitement and joy amidst the everyday of life.  We should not be discouraged by this though for, as the writer of Lamentations reminds us …

‘The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness’.
(Lamentations 3:22-23)

As many of our church and other activities commence for 2022, let us remember that it is not just the end or special moments that matter.  God is the One who continues to travel with us on the journey.  No matter how we are feeling, God’s love never ceases and God’s mercies do not end.  May our eyes be open to see small delights and glimpses of the Divine each and every day.
