Greetings,

This Sunday is our first in the Season of Lent.  Traditionally Lent is that time when Christians prepare for Easter.  During that time many people give up something so they can focus on something else.

As well as being the first Sunday in Lent, this Sunday is also when we will gather to celebrate and remember the Market that has been part of the life of this community for a long time.  As we do so, Ecclesiastes 3:1 comes to mind …

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven”

While we remember and give thanks for the many blessings of the Market season, let us also look forward to the new opportunities that may present themselves in the next season for this community.

Celebrating our Market!

Today, during Worship and afterwards over Morning Tea, we are celebrating the more than 35 year life of our wonderful Market.

Its success was due to the input of a huge group of committed volunteers who contributed in a wide variety of ways!

You know who you are, and whether or not you are able to be part of today’s celebration face to face, please consider yourselves deeply appreciated and warmly thanked!!

All good things come to an end eventually. As the Market closes we also give thanks that during its very successful life, many friends were made amongst the workers and with the wider community, and more than $500,000 was raised for use in a variety of good causes.
