Greetings,

This prayer of praise, written by Matt Julius, is an offering for Uniting in Prayer 2024.  It is based on Psalm 139.

God has searched us, knows us, loves us
God has searched our souls

God of generous embrace you know us fully, closely and afar
   our path, our way, our road ahead
   our word, our tongue, our breath
   our past, our future, our present before you

Lord, God, Creator – Calling Voice – Mystery in secret places

You, O Lord, do not, can not, will not depart us
You, O Lord, are intimately ours and we are yours
You, O Lord, are in us and beyond us
You, O Lord, are our life

In the womb of our beginning,
   in the womb of the world, you crafted us
In the secret places of our lives
   in the secret wonder of creation, you formed the formless depths

You behold us, perceive us, truly, deeply
You mark out our place in your world, deeply, truly

You call us into an open future
   a future yet we cannot see filled with hope and wonder
   awaken us to who we are

God has searched us, knows us, loves us
God has searched our souls
