Greetings to the Koonung Heights Community,
Life is often unpredictable. Even when we have a lot of boundaries in place, things have a way of changing quickly, and suddenly the things that we thought we knew become uncertain. As creatures who like routine and feel comfortable when we are in control, this can be quite unsettling. Yet no matter what is going on, we can be assured that we are never alone.
In Joshua 1:9 we hear ‘Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you, wherever you go.’ These words are reiterated in the promise of Jesus from Matthew 28:20 ‘And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’
The promise within these biblical words is that God is always with us: God as travelling companion does not leave us. While this does not mean that we won’t feel unsure about what might lie ahead, it should give us the courage to move forward, one step at a time, into the future God has planned for us.
