Greetings …
20/20 vision – the ability to see perfectly (for your age) without needing to wear glasses or contact lenses (dictionary.cambridge.org)
20/20 hindsight – the ability to understand an event or situation only after it has happened
(dictionary.cambridge.org)
This morning I participated in another first … my first online school assembly held across the two campuses of Rowville Secondary College … an assembly that parents were also invited to participate in. The captains from both campuses shared their pride in the way that the school community was working together (both on campus and online) to remain connected and care for each other.
The principal then spoke about 20/20 vision, 20/20 hindsight and the fact that we are living
in 2020 – a year with challenges that we never expected twelve months ago. She also issued a challenge to the school community encouraging each child to commit to one way that they will show kindness or care to someone during this time. As individuals shared their responses in the online chat function, the principal committed to share all these in the 2020 yearbook so that in the future each child will be able to look back and see the positive difference they made.
I wonder what we will see when we look back on this year … what is God calling us to do … what difference will we have made? May we, like the psalmist, be able to say: “My steps have held fast to your paths; my feet have not slipped.” (Psalm 17:5)
Blessings – Heather.
