Hello there…
This week, I came to take a picture of the stone where we acknowledge the traditional owners of the land in our garden. I decided to take the picture of these three that are at the Yeneda side end of the church.
It has been many weeks since we have been in our buildings, and we are feeling the separation from them and being inside. I am sure it was harder for those, that not too many years ago, lost their church buildings to divest their property for the debt of the Acacia College.
It’s not the building you can say is what or who we are, as in some churches in the world, e.g. the incredible Sagrada Familia in Barcelona Spain. It seems at times the more ornate the better and yes I understand God is everywhere, but yet it is the buildings that are important to us.
The buildings are where we have met, loved, welcomed family members, perhaps baptised our children, maybe been married and said farewell to our loved ones. And yes, we want to get back into them as soon as possible. Let’s today acknowledge our feelings for our buildings, which are in our life, are real and do mean things to us. I also am reminded of those that had the foresight to build this church, some whom are still with us today, and give my thanks as I am sure you all do as well.
Blessings for the week ahead, in your building/ home
Ray
