Greetings,

Welcome to the first issue of Community News for 2024.  While the new year began in January, in Australia it seems that things really get back into gear at this time of year.  So here we are in February, returning to the activities we have participated in before as well as possibly deciding to become involved with some new opportunities.

It is the same with our community at Koonung Heights.  The groups that have had a break over January are starting again.  Coffee Catch-up mornings at Bin 3, Fellowship group activities, Social Justice, Chat’n’Sew, Property Working Bees, Choir and Church Council.  There are many ways that you can be involved in the community and there will be new opportunities too, like the English language class that is looking to run one afternoon each week.

One group that didn’t break over the holidays was the prayer group, which continued to meet regularly to pray for the concerns of this community, our country and our world.

As we seek to be faithful and listen to the Spirit’s calling on us in 2024, it is good to be reminded of the words of Lamentations 3:22 – ‘the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness’.

As we move recommence activities or begin new ventures this year, may be know that through it all we are held in the love of God, who blesses us anew every morning.
