Greetings …

… and welcome to the first Community News for 2025.  While we are well into 2025, it seems that things really ramp up when the Community News goes back into production.

There is no doubt in my mind that 2025 is going to be a significant year for our Koonung Heights Community.  Our amalgamation journey with our Surrey Hills friends is continuing and we have shared worship together and friendships are starting to form.  I believe that we have faithfully listened to the call of the Spirit and that we are moving in the direction that God has called us.

As I have been reflecting on what is to come, this verse keeps coming to mind, ‘I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth; do you perceive it?  I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert’ (Isaiah 43:19).

I believe we have perceived this ‘new thing’ that God is calling us into, at least in part.  We might not be one hundred percent sure on how it is all going to end up, or exactly what we might look like as a new community, but all we need to do is continue to move forward in faith.  What we can be sure of is that God is already in the future that we are journeying too, and God is calling us onward into that.

As 2025 continues, let us travel the journey supporting one another.  Let us share our joys and our difficulties together, so that we might keep our eyes focussed ahead, helping one another move forward into the new, exciting, good thing that God has planned for us.
