Greetings,
During this Lenten Season we have been Meeting God in the midst of extremes. In this journey we have been reminded of how Jesus’ ministry disrupted the established social, political and religious divides of the time, and we have witnessed him meet people in the spaces they find themselves, time and time again.
As we reflect this Holy Week, we again see Jesus putting the needs of others before his own as he completes his journey to Jerusalem and the cross. On Thursday we remember the last meal he ate with his close friends before he is arrested, continuing to share with them. On Friday we watch as an innocent man cries out to God as he is tortured and put to death, but asking forgiveness for those who persecute him.
On Sunday we will delight in life restored, but let us not forget the cost of all that went before – a cost paid because of great love.
Blessings – Rev Heather Hon (she/her)
