Greetings,

As I sit at my desk and wonder how I am going to manage the competing demands of the next few weeks, I look across at my desk calendar to see this text … God is greater than your need, closer than your next breath, and stronger than your every weakness.

This is the perfect reminder that God is both greater than anything which is temporarily bothering me, and able to give me the strength to do what I need to, so I don’t need to just rely on the reserves I have.  There is comfort in this, but the reality that God is closer than my next breath shows a profoundly intimate relationship.  The Divine life-giving One is this close – closer than the breath that sustains my physical being.

As our Lenten journey continues, and we move ever closer to the cross, may this reminder be a blessing to us all, and may we have peace as we breathe in rhythm with God.
